This is the largest paleontology hall in the country, with more than 60 skeleton mounts including three Tyrannosaurus and the most complete Triceratops skeleton ever found, all set against dramatic murals by paleoartist Julius Csotonyi. Kids can walk beneath a soaring Quetzalcoatlus and see mounts posed mid-hunt rather than standing still, which makes the hall feel more like a scene than a display case. Because HMNS sits inside a five-floor museum complex with a planetarium and butterfly center, families can easily turn a dinosaur visit into a full day; Tuesday evenings 5-8pm offer free general admission on a first-come basis.
